At least for me. Most people probably think that I am crazy for saying this, but I had a N64 up until I got an XBOX 360. The 360 has a FEW nice games, I love Call of Duties and such, but it breaks too much! I love the PS2’s 1400+ library of games, and the fact that its so quiet, dosent overheat, and is small is nice! I realized that im a Sony person now, and as far as the graphics go they are still good. I dont really care about graphics, its all about the playability of games and the PS2 just has so many to choose from. I play everything from Spongebob games to Star Wars and the fun never ends. I bought a 128 MB memory card and it works great, i’ll never have to get another memory card. I recoment to all who have a budget, being that PS2 games are about half as much as the same thing on the XBOX 360, and the system is only 99.99 NEW! I also use it to watch all my DVD’S which it plays better than my actual DVD player.

It’s fun overall. Too bad it has no backlight and has AA batteries as the standard. If you use it for any extended period of time you will end up wasting money on batteries. See my full video review at

The game works well, however it is kind of hard to see the screen if you aren’t in an extremely lit room. My 10 year old son loves it though and doesn’t have any complaints.

This came as it was described other than a small crack it has been wonderful. It keeps my husband busy while i drive!!!!

The 3rd definite step in the Nintendo handheld systems was the Game Boy Advance. Not only was it the most sophisticated step in handheld systems yet, it remains the most comfortable to use, as well as being the only Game Boy system to be 100% backwards compatible; both original, Color and Advance games can be played on the Game Boy Advance.
Quite frankly, the graphics capability of the GBA was truly groundbreaking for a handheld system. It took the Super Nintendo approach to graphics and even improved it. A typical Game Boy Advance game is pure eye candy, clear and pleasing to watch, with few visible limitations. Animations are more alive than ever before, and as such each game is pleasing to take in. The sound system is the most sophisticated yet for a 32-bit machine - even old Game Boy games sound melodic on the GBA, and it’s the first 32-bit console to deliver near-perfect voice tracks.
The design of the GBA is wonderful - and I don’t just mean the beautiful semitransparent hard-plastic casing; with the D-pad and the action buttons on separate sides of the screen (like the Sega Game Gear, only much smoother), it has never been more comfortable to play a Game Boy console. What’s more, batteries live a long life on this machine, and even when the battery light turns red, you’re guaranteed a few more hours of uninterrupted play. To top it off, the GBA is light as a feather - you’ll laugh once you think of the chunk of pounds that was the original Game Boy.
The only minus I can give the GBA is the absence of backlight. My Game Boy Color is better lit than the Game Boy Advance - even a separately purchased light is of little help - and this means that you’re restricted to playing in clear light. But the GBA’s pros - the aesthetic and comfortable design, great graphics and especially the ENORMOUS library of games open to play disposal - should more than make up for it.
It’s just a shame that the Nintendo DS was released so shortly after Advance and left it without as many crowning achievement games as it should have had, though it’s still not to say that the Game Boy Advance is without its host of good games, far from it - just the mass of Super Mario games open to the machine is reason alone to buy it, as well as a number of games whose calibre one expected in the past to wind up on the Sega Megadrive console.
In overview, the Game Boy Advance is a gemstone in Nintendo’s already near-spotless repertoire of user-friendly video game systems with much to offer. If you’re an old-skool gamer as well as a GBA enthusiast, by all means get it. If you’re only interested in titles for GBA and up, get the Nintendo DS. Overall: 4.5/5

Ok so the system has been out for more then a few years now and has been replaced by the Gameboy DS. Is the GBA still holding up after the years past like the original GB did?
I had bought the GBA Artic back in 02′ and was blown away at the time with the system’s power. Games like Mario Kart Advanced were incredibly done and just as fun as the SNES renditions of the same. (Although some changes were made to the GBA version of Super Mario World Advanced taht i didn’t care for) It was like haveing my SNES in my hands! Unthinkable at the time. Then Games Like Tony Hawk with actually 3D polygon Tech came out and completed the take over. Now it wasn’t just a portable SNES but between the SNES and N64.
It is 2009 and how is the system holding up after nearly Ten Years? Amazeing! Still running strong after years of typical playing abuse from drops to being left in a freezeing car, heck it even survived a 9 month cruise in the Navy during the war! (more then i can say for my laptop!) The games are as fun now as then, the picture is still sharp, the buttons are just as responsive. I can’t say enough about the quality of Nintendo’s products. They last, I’m the proud owner of every system nintendo made (except that dumb Virtual Boy thing) and even my old NES is still racking up the hours with me and now my own kids. GBA is a worth while system and if you miss your own GBA i will tell you it is worth reinvesting in!

This is a broken dirty game with missing pieces. It does not work. You have to pay someone to fix it. You might as well just buy one new. Mine was for a birthday gift. How dissapointing. I tried going to youtube and downloading all of these different progams to unbrick it. Wast of time.

I am only writing a review on the PSP itself.
The PSP is completely amazing. The graphics are waaay better than what nintendo could ever dish out for hand held consoles. It has great games with great graphics. Not to mention the PSPs durability. I left mine out in the rain for several days and though it didn’t work for awhile it started working a couple weeks afterward. I have dropped mine down a flight of stairs and it landed on a wood floor only to have it still in perfect condition. The PSP is great for everyone and not that more expensive than a DS which is not nearly as awesome as the PSP. Don’t forget the internet browser either.

Its really a shame that such a good piece of equipment can be so faulty. The PSP value pack I bought, it looked good at first, then I noticed 2 dead pixels. They’re only noticeable during a dark screen and not during gameplay, but then a blue one popped up. And it is just always there, it won’t go away… Then today I noticed dust beginning to collect UNDER the freaking screen!… what the hell was SONY thinking when they released this?
This would be the perfect portable gaming system if it wasn’t for such problems, and now I’m thinking I shoud’ve got a DS. It isn’t as powerful, but at least I don’t have to worry about such issues… I should’ve listened to myself when I said not to buy this because of all the negative reviews. I considered the problems to be the exception, and not the rule, but I was wrong…

I can run down the list of the the PSP 1000’s launch debacles. Not that many but here are the major ones to get the dirt out of the way:
Dead pixels; A nearly microscopic yellow some times green dot on your PSP screen. You can’t wipe it off because its uder the liquid screen-guard pressing. They are built into the system. Think of them as a mistake during manufacturing. Also these small bright (and annoying dots) are only visible in polarized conditions meaning when the screen is completely black or white.
Bricking; This was your fault most of the time if it happened. Its caused by some sort of failure in your Firmware or with any attempt to alter your Firmware. Sony is prone to alter it for you as per Terms of Agreement. The firmware updates form Sony are usually meant to upgrade your PSP. The custom “homebrew” Firmware upgrades (some downgrade) are designed to MOD your handheld and are not condoned by Sony. I have never done it as with risk of bricking my PSP.
Screen fragility; this is not a debacle per se but a personal complaint none the less. I can’t stand the vulnerability of the PSP’s brilliant screen. Its easily scratched and must be maintained constantly. Its akin to baby-sitting. Nit-pickers be warned.(just grab some screen guards)
Enough with the bad on with the good! I always wanted an Ipod but the PSP squashed all possibilities of ever defecting to Apple. I have an “ipod” in my PSP. I fill up my 4gb Memory stick pro duo with metal all the time. One thing working against my model of PSP (the 1000s) is its clunkiness. Not boding well for a jogger or someone using an “mp3 player” in that manner. The list of comaptible audio files for the PSP grows constantly with Sony’s excellent firmware updates and intention of keeping the PSP in the “mp3 player” game.
The games are what I want to touch on next like its bigger sister the PS3 the PSP had a lull in any real video game titles upon launch. Now its fresh in ‘09 and I can list over 3 killer titles for the PSP:
Crisis Core
Jeanne D’arc
Dracula X Chornicles
All those games came out during the ‘07-’08 release cycles and more to come this year in 09′. I have to also reccomend Killzone Liberation being that its a Greatest hits already. The game-genres vary but I can say the PSP is a very good RPG system. Alot of classics from the ninties are re-released with AAA treatment. Companies like Square-Enix release titles all the time that were once on the PSX or that were never released in the US. I’d like to get into the graphics deparment but I’m a fan of functionality more. If you comapre DS screen shots with the PSP screen shots its a no-brainer which system has the best graphics. With functionality features I can tell you about Remote Play.
Remote Play is when you have a PS3 and PSP system “talk” to each other. You can view any video files on your PS3 hard drive on your PSP through Remote Play connectivity. I aslo found that Bionic Commando Rearmed a downloadable game; supports Remote Play. I can be on the toilet and play a PS3 title on my PSP(only if supported). One last functionality feature is the ability of transferring files via the Memory Stick Pro Duo(in my PSP) to my PS3. I have a crappy 40gb PS3 so I’m constantly cycling files in and out to conserve space. The PSP is there for you as any entertainment medium will permit. Internet browsing, Games, Music, Videos, Photos, and the Playstaion Store all in your hands.

This machine only lasts about a year, two if you’re lucky. The discs scratch easy, the lens… I dunno what the problem with that thing is. But on the brighter sides, possibly the best controller in videogame history, it has a few great games, and the main menu for the system revolutionised Nintendo systems forever. But… it only has two good games. Great, even, but still only two: Super Smash Bros. Melee and Paper Mario And The Thousand Year Door. Oh, also the Ocarina Of Time remixes took you back to the days of good videogaming, but… you can’t really consider them Gamecube games, huh? Plus, again, the discs scratch easy, and horrible games like the Sonic games, Wind Waker, Mario Kart Double Dash, Luigi’s Mansion, and Super Mario Sunshine overcrowd the few masterpieces this machine had to offer. And, honestly, had the discs and machine been built better, I’d probably bump up my rating to a 4-star review. But since they’ve been pumping out more Sonic games and Wind Waker sequels, a two-star review seems almost much too good. I’m sorry, but again, it’s pretty awful.

I can’t believe I got a great Gamecube for this cheap. It was really in excellent condition. Wires were good, controller was great (and clean!), the console looks and functions nicely, and it came thru the mail right on schedule. (4 stars is for the GC, not the company that distributed)

The open button sticks, but doesn’t keep me from playing any games. Works very well.

The main reason that made me want to invest in a Gamecube was when I found out about Tales of Symphonia. Now with that being said when I purchased mine new for 119 bucks I did not just get a console I got Smash Brothers Brawl and 3 other games with it plus a third party controller and a memory card all for 119 bucks. I got it cheap at a place I was working at and got a large discount at the time. The Cube is one of my favorite systems to be released while not because the choice of games but because the console itself is extremely durable and does not take up much room at all. Also when I got it out of the box I was surprised at how comfortable the controller was. Its a great system

The great reviews for Wii are well deserved. I own a PS3 and never imagined I would buy the Wii console since the graphics were clearly better on the sony system.
So why do I now own a Wii? Gameplay fun. The other systems have excellent features, but often miss on simple gaming and playfulness. Mario Kart is a great example. Silly cars shooting turtle shells at one another offers a great setting for new and old gamers. Everyone who comes to the house can enjoy the game.
Compare that to many of the technical heavy race games on the other systems that focus on realistic graphics and high level controls and the system is not great for newcomers (yet rewarding for those who put the time in).
Head to head games will usually be better on the PS3, but the original and wii specific titles are some of the most fun gaming experiences for groups.

A friend introduced me to Wii Fit, which I LOVED, and decided I had to have. I was a bit intimidated at the idea of having to buy and set up a gaming console, which I associate with teen-aged wizards.
It turned out to be super easy. The instructions are clear–and mostly in pictures–and the set up is pretty intuitive. Had everything up and running in 20 minutes, and that included finding a transformer and adding it to the mix (I live in a 220v country, and my Wii is a US-version 110v piece of gear.) No worries! If you can connect speakers to your computer, you can hook this up, too.

Pros:
-The controls use real motion controls which was something great to add
-Easy to install (at least for us it was!)
-Huge selection of games
-Many features
Cons:
-Has a weird glitch problem which you then must eject the disc and turn of your wii (other words, the wii freezes). It might not happen to your wii but it does for mine
-The motion controls not sensitive enough
Overall, the Wii is a great gaming console to have and it would be especially fun for families.

The sports game that comes with the WII system is great. It is easy to do and not difficult to set up.

with new games like punch-out the wii proves that it’s still got it. But the lack of good games is a downer. The good games like mario kart and brawl make the system worth having if you don’t mind giving up the graphics that is
