  This is the first official release of the “Jasper” Elites and all i can say from having this xbox for 60 days now it runs hella nice! when compared side by side with my black xbox elite, the resident evil version runs quieter, uses less energy and doesn’t create as much heat! the power supply uses 150 watts and 12.1 amps and i can tell you from experience i put the box to a good 8 hour session several times and my resident evil jasper elite doesn’t even sound or feel like its been running at all…and while i ran my black elite falcon box it would be hot and sound like an oscillating fan (exaggerating to a degree).

  you can’t beat the price though its an elite and it comes with resident evil 5 for free! which is by the way an awesome game..and as an added bonus it comes with codes for streetfighter 2 hd remix for free and others as well. you get all the same stuff as a regular elite except these are the jasper xbox’s and its all red with black. the 120 hdd is black and chrome the front is mixed with black and chrome and the controllers are black and red. as of now the only wireless accessories you can buy for it in red and black are the controllers with the play and charge kit, you cant buy the play and charge kit by its self and you can’t buy the controller by its self only the package with both together. which kind of sucks because the elite comes with a wireless red and black controller so to get the red play and charge kit for it you will need to pay extra money for the one that has the controller with it..so i got two controller with only one play and charge kit.

  on the other hand if your not a huge resident evil fan and you aren’t taken away with the colors go with the regular black xbox elite because now they come with fable 2 and halo 3 for free which are both game of the year titles and soon will be getting the platinum hits collection. but be aware that the new black xbox elites offering fable 2 and halo 3 for free aren’t jasper elites, they are in fact older model xbox’s repackaged in newer factory wrapping.

  Desde el comienzo despues de una ATARI 2600, he sido un Nintendo adicto, desde que tuve mi primera consola SUPER NINTENDO fue tan autosuficiente tanto en su desempeño operativo como en su infinita gama de excelentes juegos, luego fue el N64, una consola que brilla hasta hoy en día con un line-up de juegos tan brutales que pareciera que ninguna consola hasta hoy pudiese tener y significar para lo que fue para el N64 en su tiempo. GameCube un N64 mejorado pero aqui es donde empezó el declive de Nintendo en su arsenal de juegos. Y por último el novedoso Wii, que ha sido tan exitoso con su singular control y diseño que se ha vendido como pan caliente. Es tan espectacular que pareciera que la Nintendo no se preocupa en solicitar una elite de juegos que respalden su consola. Los mejores juegos son los pioneros del lanzamiento y los que postergaron pero aparte de esto son muy pocos los juegos que han destacado. Y aun asi se mantiene actualmente como la mejor venta sin marketing entre las actuales cónsolas.
  Paralelamente a un jugador tan afanoso como yo quiere invertir un tiempo limitado hoy en día, agoviado por las demandas familiares y laborales para dedicarlo a mi hobby disfrutando de calidad. Esto no lo permite el Wii en cuanto intensidad se refiere, por supuesto que existe excepciones con exclusividades como Metroid Corruption, Zelda Twilight Princess y Super Mario Galaxy. Pero desde hace tiempo me he dado cuenta del incremento de la cantidad de juegos con calidad en el XBOX 360: LEFT 4 DEAD, DEAD SPACE, GEARS OF WAR SERIES, BIOSHOCK, FALLOUT 3 y sobre todo los juegos de carros, GRID, PURE, DIRT, NEED FOR SPEED - MOST WANTED, BURNOUT PARADISE. Sin duda es LA MAMA DE LAS CONSOLAS, aunque PLAYSTATION 3 reproduce Blu Ray y sus juegos son 1080p tambien, no la prefiero antes un XBOX 360. Porq la cantidad de juegos de calidad en el XBOX 360 no es comparable, aunque el PS3 es uno de los mejores Blu-Ray en el mercado cuando el desempeño de audio se refiere, esta consola no tiene una salida optima compatible con los mejores sistemas de audio, si quieres calidad en BLU-RAY comprate un Panasonic DMP-BD80 High Clarity Audio Blu-ray Disc Player, Black y si quieres una buena consola de juego entonces este Xbox 360 Resident Evil 5 Elite Red Console.

  Para los compradores de esta consola Edicion Especial les recomiendo guardar los juegos en la memoria y jugar desde ella ya que reduce el ruido que hace esta consola al girar el disco mientras se juega, ES MUY MOLESTO. El sistema operativo es muy bueno puedo hasta jugar demos, que me parece un avance muy bueno, todavia no encuentro muy convincente los beneficios de tener el XBOX LIVE GOLD, esta consola no se calienta facilmente, y algo que me parecio espectacular es el control inalambrico, generalmente los rumbles de los controles desajustan o delatan la mala calidad de la construccion de estos al vibrar, pero este control es muy sólido, ojala el Wii Mote se comparara con este ademas el agarre ergonómico es muy bueno. Hay opciones q no he revisado como la compatibilidad con Windows Vista usando mi computador personal. Bueno, en total tengo esta edicion especial Roja de Resident Evil 5 del XBOX 360 y dicen porq tiene la tarjeta madre JASPER lo hace una maquina con menos posibilidades de tener el Anillo Rojo de la Muerte. Lo que si se es que el color de esta consola combinaria bien con ese anillo.

  Before you buy it do a search on the “Red Ring of Death” (RRoD), Or just anything about “flashing red lights” and “xbox 360″. They should put a warning in their ads or something. I got the RRoD, I know a few people who got the RRoD, and I don’t really know too many people with an xbox 360. Based on that and just all the other people an internet search will show have gotten the problem, makes it seem to me like a common problem. Basically if you see those lights there’s something wrong with your system and you can’t play it. Sure there is a 3yr warranty to fix it, from what I understand only for the 3 red lights. Only 1yr for the 2 red lights, supposed ‘overheating’ fault, which I eventually got during a 10min game session and continue to get every once in a while. Even still with the warranty you have to send your system in to get it repaired or replaced with a refurbished system, which takes about a month to get resolved. It’s pretty annoying paying so much for a system and not being able to play it. The problem is common enough I’m not putting any more money into their system. All I’m trying to do is warn you of something I didn’t know, other than that the quality of it’s games is fine. Same old same old, just flashier graphics, as expected. I’m just frustrated with Xbox and I’m going to try and not spend any more money on Xbox and save up to get a PS3. If you’re looking for something new and original get a wii, other than that for graphics and more mature games get PS3. Anyways I just think people should know the risks they’re taking, maybe by now the problem has been addressed with a better answer than a warranty extension, but I’m just telling you my experience.

  This is easily the best value in Xbox 360 systems to date, with an excellent game in Resident Evil 5 and probably the best arcade game with Street Fighter Turbo 2 HD Remix its a steal. The system is in my opinion the best looking of all the 360s and with the new Jasper chip its the quitest and coolest running of all the systems as well, definitely runs a lot cooler and quiter then my H3 360 and orignal do.

  The system itself comes with the 120GB hard drive which is still the biggest and best to date for the system. Also a matching wireless controller is also a nice addition which by the way is exactly the same color as the previous released red controller (I would know I had it since the day it dropped in stores), plus the free hdmi cable. All in all this package would cost you at least anoter $200 if bought with any other 360 system package.

  Gets a 5 out of 5 stars from me and would recommend to anyone wanting a 360 or new 360 to replace an older one as your main system (like I did).

  Hey it is what it is. It is an elite version in red bundled with a game. You should have seen already it is the jasper chip set. It is deffinetly quieter then my 360 pro editon or my Halo edition. If you can get it for the $399 price point it is worth picking up.

  Only downside is Microsoft doesnt sell the red rechargable battery pack seperate. Yeah you can get the red edition controller your just out of luck chsing down the red battery pack. Some people are finicky about their stuff. Meh, I’ll live.

  I bought it thinking about the problem of heating and it`s the same, I played only on weekends and the console is dead now, and all my friends who bought it are also so mad because of this,, Microsoft Xbox 360 is disposable.. I will buy a PS3 or a nintendo Wii

  Ever heard of innocent until proven guilty?

  Let me begin by saying I’m from Europe originally and in Europe practically everyone has grown up with PSX. I had a PS1, a PS2 and now in the good old USA have owned a PS3 for about 18 months. So if anyone should be anti Xbox it should me…!! The PS3 is CLEARLY a better system on paper but after all this time I grew frustrated at the lack of EXCELLENT games, the fact that previous exclusive titles are no longer exclusive and the fact that developers haven’t yet been able to harness it’s true potential so finally I decided to fall to the “dark side” and buy an Xbox 360….

  This package IS a good deal for a casual gamer who doesn’t risk overheating his or her machine by 10 hours of play a day… This package IS a good deal for people who don’t know anything about falcons, zephyrs or whatevers and this package IS a good deal for people who want 2 excellent games for free. It is also worth noting that the library of games for Xbox 360 & Xbox (Yes, with the 120G HDD included with the elite, it is backwards compatible unlike the newest versions of the PS3) is immense and for RPG fans this is a real incentive.

  I think we should wait before giving our final verdicts - barring any technical issues this is a good deal - Think about it, a 120G HDD costs around $150, a HD cable around $40, a DVD player, maybe $100, 2 games around $70 so if you’ve never owned a games console before I would say this is the best deal around.

  Don’t get me wrong this ISN’T the PERFECT deal - SURE, it should not be advertised as the “newest version” as it is not (manufacture date of June 2008), SURE the machine is a lot noisier than the PS3, the 2 games come stuffed into 1 box which is just not professional and the controllers are battery operated, which, with technology available nowadays, is ridiculous. It’s also worth noting that if you want to use a router for WIFI you have to fork out another $75 for the USB adapter and to be able to play games online you have to pay for Xbox Gold which, although isn’t going to break the bank, is shameful considering PS3 offers free online gaming.

  So it’s really a question of faith… Is it worth paying $400 for a machine that risks breaking so soon, of course not, but Microsoft offers a free, 3 year warranty for the RROD problem, so I say wait and see, or at least find an ACTUAL reason not to like it, not a POSSIBLE ONE…..!?

  I’m not simply giving the Elite console a low rating because of the fact that most of them include the Falcon chipset, but rather since it is overpriced for what you are getting. Considering that the Premium comes with a hefty 60GB hard drive and is $100 cheaper, a 120GB hard drive is really unnecessary. I’m sure some people may disagree and claim that their demos, music, videos, pictures, etc. consume up to one-hundred gigabytes of space, but the large hard drive is the only reason this package is overpriced. Once you purchase this, you must then purchase a $100 wireless network adapter, which most would agree is a necessity. Also, why did they not include a Play & Charge Kit? In addition, a black wireless headset is much more of a Live companion than the included wired one. Finally, although the black finish is nice, it absolutely does not match with any of the accessories, such as the Quick Charge Kit, the Media Remote, the Wireless Headset, Xbox Live Vision (not necessary), and the HD DVD drive (if you own it).

  Here’s what a true bundle worthy of the title “Elite” would include in addition: wireless headset, Play & Charge Kit, and Media Remote (all matching). This would indeed be worth the $400 retail price. Instead, save one-hundred dollars, go for the Premium bundle, and purchase a wireless headset, rechargeable battery, and media remote (with enough money left for a full-priced game).

  Worthy of note is that I actually did spot an Elite that included the Jasper chipset, if one were to follow the hint that all those manufactured after August 2008 are Jaspers. I spotted one that was manufactured in late October.

  Also, if you decide to go for the plunge and purchase this, be aware that the game is packaged in the bottom of the box, meaning that everything else is putting pressure on it. The Premium bundle that I purchased had a severely crushed game case. Just look out for that.

  I have no idea about the ‘chipset” for the units, but yeah, it says it was made in ‘08. So? It works.

  What does bother me with the X-Bos is that first, silly I know, but it’s gray, not black.

  Okay, other than that, I hate the dashboard. It would not let me play Fable 2 until I created a second account, then it started a new game, now I have two accounts, one avatar and can’t keep track of where my saved games are, can’t copy the saves, or consolidate. I can’t find my downloads because it seems I’m always in the wrong account for what I want but can’t back-up my saves so I can destroy all accounts and create one to use.

  I hate the layout, it’s not user friendly.

  I can’t find the wireless set-up, anywhere. There’s no book with the thing that explains the dashboard!!! I found wireless setup once by mistake but didn’t have the #### handy to enter so it’s still attached by a cable to the internet.

  The media sharing is crap befause you can’t browes folders, you have all your video / music on your main drive and default MS folders!

  What a freaking mess this system is!

  So, here’s the deal, Halo 3, Fable 2, Infinite Undiscovery, Star Ocean 3 are all x-box only games, they are worth the investment! But when FFXIII comes out, I’m sticking with my PS3!!!

  The X-Box has only DVD support (never had HD-DVD, that was lie, you needed a second disk drive) and all the games that are also available on PS3 look and sound better on PS3(Eternal Sonata, Dead Space, Half Life 2, etc) but the X-Box has more RPG / Action RPG than any system, so it’s the one to have for that genre, otherwise the PS3 is much, much better for the money.

  These units do NOT I repeat DO NOT have the Jasper chipset inside of them and therefore do not feature the latest hardware upgrades on the 360’s. Microsoft is selling OLD SYSTEMS with OLD HARDWARE in these so called “new bundles”.

  Furthermore the two free games are in the SAME package and stuffed as tight as can be. I did not open the container but what you see is Halo 3 on 1 side and Fable 2 on the other. It is NOT 2 separate game discs and in my opinion is very tacky and not well done.

  SHAME ON MICROSOFT FOR THIS CRAP. As much as I like the black finish on the Elite consoles I went ahead and got a Jasper Arcade unit and a 120GB Hard Drive.

  Again the unit I bought was a Zephyr unit. Not even Falcon. There a few Falcon ones but I have yet to see any of these bundles contain a Jasper Unit.

  But at your own RISK.

  i recently got my wireless adapter for 45 bucks good deal
  when i 1st got my adapter i had a major problem it was not detecting my network the problem was my router was literally right next to my system i currently dont need the adapter but in the future i will which is why i got it when i saw it for 45
  i input all my info manually and still would not work but i remembered when i got my ds to connect i had the same problem my network was not broadcasting its name and encrypted the traffic as soon as i disabled that it immediately connected after i just reset my old settings and i was set
  from my experience i dont use xbox live but i do download things which is why i got it i dont know the rance of the adapter but i will find out in the future when i move my setup

  We purchased an xbox 360 wireless network adaptor thru amazon from a private buyer in March 2009. it does not work anymore. it was working one minute and not the next. I cannot find the email and would like to know if you could locate it for me to see if there is any warranty.

  This product has worked very well for me. It’s unnecessary, of course, if you have a cat 5/ethernet cable and can run to the back of your xbox from your router, and your console has the jack. Setup was a bit time consuming but not too difficult. Now, if I could just fix the loud buzzing sound the xbox makes after playing a disk for over an hour…

  Works extremely well, seems to pick up signals stronger than the laptops we have in the house.

  Configuring your xbox for wireless can be a pain, but if you call the xbox customer support line, they are usually very helpful.

  Very solid build, works consistently. Highly recommended.

  Amazon, I know the new 360s, I’ve used the new 360s, new 360s have 12.1 voltage, Amazon this is not the newest 360 model. The 360 that I recieved was not the newest model, it was a Falcon board, not the new Jasper board. Just something to know. So far, no issues and the system works great but i’m not even sure that some of the offers included with the system are still applicable because it is clearly one of the first 60GB units that was put out to market especially since it has a giant “Now with 60GB Hard drive” label on the front of the box.

  So I was very cautious in getting a xbox 360 due to the many failure issues and red ring of death. However, I can safely say that nothings is wrong with my 360 after playing for about 6 months. The thing is durable, i dropped it a couple of times and i rebooted it when it was loading from the hardrive..no problems whatsoever. But i dont like the headset that comes with the console because one step on it and bye bye headset. Overall, i am really enjoying the xbox 360 and play great titles (call of duty 5, nba 2k9, battlefield, midnight club) very very solid console.

  I have other game consoles but this is my favorite one. The expanded memory and graphics makes it a very enjoyable game console to use. The variety of games available and accessories are a big plus as well. Some of the games I prefer are not found on other console systems. I am very happy with the Xbox 360 and recommend it.

  Do yourself a favor and get a PS3 instead of buying this piece of junk. This thing crashes and messes up discs. To get a big round scratch on a disc, all you have to do is pick up the 360, move it or turn is to the side, and you will have a disc that is in terrible condition. Get a PS3 instead. The quality is much better on a PS3.
